Work Party with REI at Tomball's Burroughs Park March 10
What once was the homestead of Roy Campbell Burroughs is now the site of one of Harris County’s Precint 4 premier parks, covering 320 acres. Burroughs Park is home to the historic Tomball Depot that for years greeted residents who came into town from the east along FM2920.
Burroughs Park is also one of GHORBA’s newest trail areas and partnering projects with REI Willowbrook .
If you recently participated in the IMBA trail building clinic, this is a perfect opportunity to try out your newly learned skills! If you haven’t, come out anyway – GHORBA & REI wil teach you.
- We’ll meet at 8:30 AM at the rear of the park (the most northern parking lot), near the the park’s pavilion and restrooms. Click for map & detailed directions to Burroughs Park
- You are encouraged to bring gloves, safety glasses, a full hydration pack or bike bottle, trimming or clipping tools, sunglasses or safety glasses, and mosquito repellent.
- We will provide drink refills and lunch
- This work party qualifies for Paydirt 2007 Spring Series points. Paydirt is open to all volunteers and enters you into yearly drawings worth thousands of dollars. Visit TMBRA.org for more Paydirt info.
