Big Call for Volunteers - Memorial Park Saturday, Sept. 22

9:00 AM Start. Meet @ the Memorial Park Soccer Field Parking Lot

The trails at Memorial Park are in dire need of attention. The record summer rains eroded many sections of the trails, making them unrideable. In addition, there were bozos riding them when they shouldn’t have, and widening sections that should be walked.

When we say trails folks, we mean singletrack!

Your trail work experience is less important than showing up. However, since this is a big work party, we’d like to get a decent headcount that will help us organize the crews. So please take a moment to sign up for this work party (click me).

Please bring gloves, safety or sunglasses, a full camelback or water bottle, and your favorite tools if you have them (you can always leave your tools in the car if you want to use ours). Also, long pants and shirtsleeves are recommended to fend off poison ivy. Mosquitoes are still out too—we’ve got extra strength DEET if you don’t.

GHORBA will provide drink refills, snacks, specialty and general tools.

Everyone volunteering at the work party can submit their Paydirt form. Even if you don’t race, you can qualify for some sweet prizes at the end of the racing season.

  4. Thanks to all that came out. We had just over 30 people and did a lot of top-priority repairs. The eastern ends of Cambodia (green trail) need more attention. If you’re an experienced trail volunteer who can work weeknights, please contact mptrailwork@ghorba.org
