Work Parties at Huntsville State Park - Sept. 2 & 9, 8AM to 1PM

Jimm needs your help and you need Paydirt—even if you’re not a racer (hint, hint).

The work involves continuation of building new re-routes and help Jimm get ready for the race in November, which promises to be one of the best turn-outs in recent years as the finale to the Fall TMBRA series and after last year’s disappointing cancellation due to Hurricane Rita.

Tools you can bring if you have them: spade shovel, metal (not leaf) rake, hand and long handl clippers, gloves, sunscreen, bug repellent with DEET, a hat and good attitude.

Camelbaks are also recommended. We will have fluids for you to fill them with, but bring a full one to start with.

Meet at Nature Center just inside the front gate at 8:00AM. We will have to ride or hike in to the work sites.

There is a new parking lot. I suggest using it as the park law enforcement group will write tickets for parking on the grass and the nature center parking should be left open for visitors to that attraction.

Huntsville State Park Directions

If it is raining on the 2nd, I (Jimm) will likely still work unless it is accompanied with lightning or 40 days/nights type of rain. Call the update line for clarification in the twelve hours before work start time: 281.433.5326
