April Trail Work Opportunities - Earth Day & More

Some racers have been procrastinating getting in their volunteer hours for Paydirt points. But GHORBA can help with the opportunities below.

Everyone is welcome to come and help – you don’t need to be a Paydirt scavenger. If you do need points, please go to the TMBRA Paydirt website and print out your paydirt form for the trail steward to sign.

Terry Hershey Park Cleanup with REI Houston Stores Sunday April 22 at 10 AM

Join REI and GHORBA in celebration of Earth Day for a Service Project Day at Terry Hershey Park. Cyclists, hikers, paddlers, and outdoor enthusiasts of all types are all invited. We will furnish trash bags, water, and goodies for the kids. We recommend you bring gloves, sunblock and insect repellent. If the trails will be dry, we’ll take a ride afterwards! Double Lake BYO Work Party & Ride April 22, 9 am – 1 pm.

This is an “old school” work party for racers in need of end-of-season Paydirt points. By “old school” we mean you’re on your own as far as drinks, food and tools go. It’ll be pretty much a trimming day. Directions to Double Lake

Double Lake Sunday April 29, 9am – 1pm.

Drinks and lunch will be provided. Bring your work clothes – long sleeves, trousers, sensible shoes, bug spray and your enthusiasm. We will be primping Double Lake ready for the race the following weekend.

  1. I would like to work for paydirt at Double lake on Sunday the 29th. The hours are 9-1 but if possible I would like to work one extra hour(either before or after). I currently have 5 paydirt hours and with this I would complete my paydirt duties. Thank You
