Work Party and Ride at Lake-Lake -- Saturday, Dec. 2, 9 AM

Our wonderful trail in the Sam Houston National Forest area needs your help.

Recently Jim Mackey and Robert Patrick fixed a fallen bridge and removed trees from trail, so the trail is healing well after the October rains. However, a bit of work is needed around the old water bars and relocating sand deposited at the bottoms of the water runs. We may also scope out an extension to the race course.

We will have drinks and lunch for those joining us for the work party.

GHORBA staff will lead a ride after the work party lunch (this trail is great for beginners, because it’s not technical, as well as experienced riders, because they can go really fast).

You should bring if you have: gloves, sunscreen, bug repellent, your bike and bike gear.

In case of inclement weather, please check the GHORBA calendar for notice of cancellation before driving up.

Note:
Ask for free entrance at the gate if you’re showing up for the 9 AM work party. Make a left after the gate and drive down all the way to park by the lodge.

Everyone volunteering at the work party can submit their Paydirt form. Even if you don’t race, you can qualify for some sweet prizes at the end of the racing season!

  1. It’s going to be a bit cold, so you won’t need bug repellent but you will need gloves! GHORBA will provide all the other tools.
