2007 Sprockids Event this Saturday at Memorial Park
Our partner Melissa Juliano of HART, has stepped forward again to help organize the second Sprockids event of 2007.
We need our members and friends to help us fit DePelchin Center kids with GHORBA bikes and helmets, introduce them to basic off-road bicycle riding skills, and give them an opportunity to ride a bit of trails at Memorial Park.
There are lots of way you can help! Please bring your Camelback or backpack (to fit the kids’ water bottles in), a fully charged cell phone and enthusiasm.
To volunteer for ~3 hours this Saturday (or one night this week to help us load bikes into the GHORBA trailer near the Houston Heights), you must contact sprockids@ghorba.org. Sorry, DePelchin requests are that only adults are allowed to interact with the kids.
Besides the reward of putting a smile on a child’s face and introducing her to mountain biking, volunteers will also get some classic “GHORBA green” schwag!
