GHORBA Ride in Waco - Sunday March 9 - wheels down 10:15 AM

We know we haven’t had as many organized rides as we should, but hey, it’s a chore to keep up with grant applications, trail construction and the upcoming Big Ring Challenge race.

We all need a break from work, rain, or whatever, so drive on up for some Sunday riding at Cameron Park Trails in Waco (click on the map below for a printable version).

Daylight savings starts the night before so you’ll be home before dark.

Riders with a helmet of all skill levels welcome. The ride is free for GHORBA members in good standing.

Park Info

Waco is home to the second largest municipal park in the United States. Cameron Park comprises more than 450 acres and is filled with varying types of terrain. There are two major tributaries that join at the park’s bank, the Brazos and Bosque rivers.

Cameron Park offers a wide variety of mountain biking ranging from tight twisty single-track to rolling riverside double track. In addition, there are varied levels of difficulty providing everyone, from the beginner to advanced rider, with an enjoyable trek. The trails in Cameron are marked like those found on ski slopes: green circle for easy, blue square for intermediate, black diamond for difficult, and double black diamond for very difficult. There are over 20 miles of trail within the park.

All trails are bidirectional so if you just climbed a gnarly hill and want to turn around for a sweet downhill, then go for it! The park is free to visitors and offers many other forms of recreation.

  1. I would love to save the gas and the planet by getting a ride. I can contribute snacks, gas money, music, and/or beverages. Or I can drive me + 3 if our bikes can be transported by someone else. I have a big comfy car but no bike rack – the Yeti rides in the trunk to the races.

  4. We’re stilll working on one location, somewhere in town. It depends whether we’ll need the rack, which I have (the van is Rafael’s coming from south), or not.
