GHORBA Attends Legacy Land Trust Dinner
On 7 February 2007, several GHORBA directors and their guests attended the Legacy Land Trust annual fund raising gala dinner. This was also the 10th anniversary of LLT, which made the event all the more special.
.
Attending the event were a long list of local luminaries engaged in advocacy for land preservation and park management, including the doyen of local environmental preservation – Ms. Terry Hershey, who is seen pictured here with GHORBA President Mike Lutomski and Vice-President Kevin Highfield.
Those of you familiar with the history of bicycle trails in Houston will realize how far we have come when they look at that picture; previous battles are behind us now and we are a part and parcel of local environmental advocacy.
Attending the dinner was a terrific opportunity to meet existing contacts on a social level, while meeting new people with whom we can forge useful relationships. And, of course, we did have an enjoyable evening. We continue to work with and support Legacy Land Trust, most recently arranging a Trail Building Clinic at the trust’s Montgomery County Preserve and working with the trust to scope new trails at Little Cypress Creek Preserve.
