GHORBA - Elections 2006

GHORBA is looking for volunteers to serve on the Board of Directors for 2007.

We need people with energy and enthusiasm to help GHORBA to continue to grow and prosper. If you have ever had the desire to give back to the community and this great activity, now is your chance.

We’ve had an incredible year with several major breakthroughs on new trail projects, a record year of fundraising and support from our annual fundraiser and race, the GHORBA Big Ring Challenge, and formed new relationships with public, private, and other non-profits agencies all interested in conserving and enjoying the limited green space we have in the Houston area.

We specifically need people with a passion for conservation and recreation that can (or will learn to):

  • Coordinate or lead social, educational, or recreational events
  • Write grant proposals
  • Bookkeep or manage accounts

Our open positions include:

  • Community Outreach & Youth Education Director
  • Social Events Coordinator
  • Fundraising/Grant Writer
  • Treasurer
  • Regional Trail Representatives (North, South, East, West)

You can be a recreational rider, a hiker, a runner, a racer, road cyclist, or just someone who wants to get involved. Worried you don’t have experience? No problem, a willingness to help and learn is all that is required.

If you enjoy the outdoors, want to preserve it, and want to promote safe and thoughtful recreation, GHORBA needs you. We also want to ensure to have on board members representing interests from all off-road biking areas of our large city.
