Joshua Cools

My name is Joshua Cools and I’m GHORBA's treasurer. My BOD experience began in 2007 when I was elected the President of La Porte Paramedic Association. During my two years as President, I converted the organization to an IRS and state approved non-profit corporation. I increased funding, outreach and support for departmental needs. I also spearheaded the 2 year project of becoming the first free standing EMS agency to join CLEAT (Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas) for union representation. I left the City of La Porte to work as a paramedic with Memorial Hermann Life Flight in 2010 and love everything about my job. I currently serve at board president for Dependable Resuscitation Training, LLC, which provides consulting, training and equipment for the prehospital management of patients. I’ve held that role since September of 2006. Additionally, I hold the position of treasurer with Cools Conservation, which is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization that focuses on ocean appreciation and conservation.
I’m also an avid mountain biker for 15 years. I primarily ride the Memorial trails but also love Jack Brooks and the occasional trip to Rocky Hills Ranch. I am a former instructor and bike mechanic with IPMBA (International Police Mountain Bike Association). There is no hobby I love more than biking…. although sailing is close.
